From Mamma Kats prompts:

I am praying for... My Beautiful Daughter! She is the child that did everything right... with a few mishaps but nothing to really speak of... well, she snuck(is that a word... oh well, I'm using it) out of the house one night, but then she couldn't handle it and told on herself. That is my girl in a nutshell.

Anyway, she has had nothing but heartache since her first year of college. She ended up getting married (shes the girl that wants the big happy family, a wonderful devoted husband, lots of kids and the white picket fence) instead she got the opposite. An alcoholic husband that did nothing unless she got mad, drank himself to oblivion everyday, couldn't really keep a job for any amount of time, he had a daughter that was 7 when they got married and used her to drink because he couldn't have her full time... in reality he could have (the mother was out of the picture) but then he wouldn't be able to party. As it was, he only got her on some weekends because the grandparents trusted my daughter. In 2005 she got pregnant and in her 9th month lost the baby (Achaela was her name) when she had a total eruption of the placenta. Achaela bleed to death and Candace was doing the same. Very hard, Very painful physically and emotionally!!! She was a beautiful baby girl who looked like Candace and her sister, my youngest, when she was a baby. I just threw up my hands and told God that I wasn't going to ask questions on this one. It just didn't make sense, especially when you see women out there getting abortions, or not taking care of there babies. That is just the kind of stuff that goes through your head. The hardest thing about it besides the mourning of that beautiful grandchild was watching my daughter go through something so horrific, it still brings me to my knees just thinking about it. Mom's are suppose to be able to make things better, but this was in God's hands not mine. While she was still in the hospital, her husband was drunk, just another excuse for him to drink. I know, that is horrible of me to say but that is how I feel! My nephew happened to be at there house and was able to drive Candace to the hospital because the deadbeat husband couldn't, he was drunk. I lived about 40 minutes away and Candace could have died along with her baby that night. I thank God that my nephew was there. Losing a child, it is something that you do not get over, you learn to live with it but you don't get over it! For months, I was still in fear that I would lose my daughter. Everyone goes through grief differently, but I just couldn't imagine what my daughter was going through and her depression was almost more than I could handle. Anyway there marriage was so dysfunctional, he would drink, she would get mad and he would stop for a few days and then back at it again. She left him twice before she really left him. Before that happened she had a miscarriage and a month later got pregnant again with her oh so beautiful son, my little Bug-a Boo. 3 weeks after Gunnar was born her husband ended up yet again, in rehab. He left to early and Candace gave him one more chance, needless to say she is now a single Mom and is doing a wonderful job. She just didn't want her son around a dad like that! All this heartache has taken its toll on her and sometimes she is just so bitter it scares me. I love her so much and I just want her to get her dream of that wonderful hubby and more children. I pray daily that she will have that dream.

My Hubby and I

This is a topic I got from Mamma Kats blog. I don't know if this is very interesting but is was fun to do.

  1. What are your middle names? Ellsworth and Lorraine... mmmm sounds like a match.
  2. How long have you been together? 28 years as of Feb. 2. Married 27 years in June.
  3. How long did you know each other before you started dating? Zip, nada, none... it was a blind date. It was arranged by a mutual friend.
  4. Who asked whom out? Again, it was a blind date.
  5. How old are each of you? 56 and 47 ... we are 9 years and 5 months apart.
  6. Whose siblings do you see the most? Mine, my hubby likes to hunt and so do my brothers.
  7. Which situation is the hardest on you as a couple? Money money and money, of course you could throw a kid or two in there every once in a while.
  8. Did you go to the same school? Nope, he was a Fontana High boy and I was an Eagle Mtn. Eagle.
  9. Who is smarter? My hubby, but I run a very close second. He is a math wiz, not my best subject. Don't tell him I said so Candace, I will never hear the end of it.
  10. Where do you eat out most as a couple? Don't do a lot of eating out but when we go it would be Lisa's or The Irma. My husband is a awesome cook!
  11. Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple? Wyoming from California and vice versa.
  12. Who has the craziest exes? Since he is the only one with an ex he wins the pie.
  13. Who has the worst temper? Probably me, but watch out when his finally flies.
  14. Who does the cooking? I do on a regular basis, but he is the better cook.
  15. Who is the neat-freak? Well... I have never been the best housekeeper and believe me he isn't either. Don't get me wrong, I like a clean house but there are other things that can distract me pretty easily. Like playing on the computer... I have a load of laundry that needs folding as we speak!
  16. Who is more stubborn? The mans name is Dane Ellsworth Larson... of Swedish decent... he is!
  17. Who hogs the bed? The dogs... Locker, a Jack Russel Terrier and JoJo, a Corgi. Sometimes the cat gets in there too!
  18. Who wakes up earlier? Most the time he does but I babysit the Bug-a-Boo and his Mom doesn't get home until late.
  19. Where was your first date? Again it was a blind date and we went with another couple to a Pizza place... this is really bad but I don't remember the name.
  20. Who is more jealous? After 27 years, I think that has passed But it use to be me (I think).
  21. How long did it take to get serious? About a month and a half. He asked me to marry him at 10 months.
  22. Who eats more? He does, he is one of those people who really enjoys his food (but then he is the better cook). He eats better than I do too (as in good for you).
  23. Who's better with the computer? I think we both have our strong points. He is a CAD operator and is very good at it. Mine is more in word processing, I was a large print formatter.
  24. Who drives when you are together? He does for a very good reason, I don't like him telling me how to drive.

Sorry if I was a little repetitive!

Getting Older and Not So Gracfully

Well, yesterday I turned 33 hehe haha, of course I started going backwards at 40 so you can do the math, and it was a great day. My daughters came over with a gift, one of the items was Jason Mraz's new CD. I don't know why but I love this guys music, it is happy and makes you want to dance, so me and the Bug did some dancing after the girls left. Dane is working hard on a job and still building my L/O. Today though, he is taking some time off to take his wonderful wife to dinner for her B-day.

The Bug loves Papas boots. In the second pic it looks like he is saying "Put that camera down" of course that's not going to happen. Lol
As you can see we are still in construction mode... big sigh... but it will be wonderful when it is all done!
Just want to say thanks to everyone who has commented, I am so new to this I feel I need to take a writing course so I don't bore you to death or embarrass myself. I truly love the comments, they make my day.

All is Well in my World

I am so excited about this Library/Office!
Here is the side that will have my computer station. I am now really liking the color I chose, it goes perfectly with the dark stain my hubby used on the wood.

What is really great is I got all my tax paperwork done, what is not so great is that now I will find out how much I will owe. :o( I am very afraid!!!

On to better things... My little Bug-a-Boo is soooo enjoying being outside in that big ole world. It is so fun to watch him just walk around and see things he has never seen before. I told my husband that I would love to know what is going on in that little brain of his, it makes you see things in a different light (all brand new again). He is so precious... it is amazing (as a Granma)what I am seeing with him that I don't remember seeing with my girls. I guess when my girls were little I was also trying to keep up with the bills, housework, husband and all the other 250 thousand things that a Mom has to do in one day that I missed or don't remember all those amazing things these little guys do while learning this world. That is what makes being a Granma so special... at this time (for me) I have so much more patience and it is wonderful!!!

All things Wonderful to you, Sharon

Quick Post

Well, here is the color I chose, it scarred me at first, but with the darker wood I think it will work out real well.

I am still working on my taxes and my hubby is working on the built in shelves. Every year I say I will do a monthly report that will make this easier but... alas here I am doing paperwork! :(

I get my little Bug-a-Boo this afternoon and then all work stops. I am a Grandma and we have to play.

Still Remodeling

As you can see the drywall is up, texture coat was sprayed and I am priming the walls getting them ready for paint. I just can't wait until it is done!

The entry will be oak framed and my built in book shelves will go on top of those soffets and will also be oak. The desk will be built in on the opposite side corner of where I am knealing. Then I have a beautiful oak rolltop desk that will sit in the middle of that back wall. I have always dreamed of having a library and now it is coming true.
I am so spoiled and I have a wonderful hubby. I thank God for all that he has done in my life.
I know I am getting all mushy, hope everyone has a wonderful day.
God's Blessings, Sharon

Spring is in the Air

I can't wait to open my windows and let all the germs and what not blow out of my house. Since Nov. , everyone in the family has been sick with a cold or flu. The last few days it has been snowing and overcast. But... this morning we woke up to that wonderful thing called sun! It is still cold out there but the sun feels wonderful streaming in through my windows. I am always ready for that next season. Soon I will be able to sit on my back deck and have my morning coffee and read my devotional.
Now, it is time to get back to that wonderful thing called housework.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day, Sharon

Constuction, Accidents, Gunnar and Taxes

Where to begin...
I guess in the middle of all this my daughter had to work a double so Gramma had the Boo for 2 days and 1 night. He loves Papa's power tools(at least the one we let him play with without the bit in it). In this picture Papa helps him climb the ladder. Just so you know, the wire he is grabbing for is not hot.
Dane's putting more power plugs in the L/O so I can plug all my gadgets in without an extension cord. (he knows me well! Lol)
So in between construction we (Me and the Boo) decide to make brownies and the Gunnar Boo got to lick out the bowl. It was a first for him. As you can see, he loved it, but I don't know anyone who doesn't like brownie dough. He is so precious, sometimes I think my heart will explode from so much love! This boy thing is a first for me, I had girls.
While my husband worked so hard up on my L/O, Gunnar, the dogs (Locker-the Jack Russel, JoJo-the Corgi and Juno-Candace's sweet little mut) and I played down in the living room.
Gunnar is showing Gramma what a big boy he is by standing on his car, he actually stayed there while I grabbed the camera off the table. That is my little Gunnar Boo hamming it up.
So to sum it up, in the middle of all this I did get some work done on my taxes...yuck! And just this morning, my husband was cutting some drywall and just about cut the end of his finger off.
That has been the last few days in Gamma Sharon's Life.

Remodeling

No matter how much you clean up after each portion of remodeling, there is still a mess everywhere you look... but the result will be worth it!

Here are the before and what comes next pictures...

There are my beautiful daughters.

This will be my new Library/Office, all built by my wonderful husband!
WooHoo... I can't wait.
