Thankful Thursday #8

Thankful Thursdays are all about taking the time to appreciate all the little things or big things that actually went right during the week and not focus on what went wrong!

This theme is possible because of the inspiration of another blogger, Pam at http://pamperspective.blogspot.com/

1. I am thankful ... that I was able to go to AZ for my nephews wedding. It was a double blessing because I got to visit with lots of family!

2. I am thankful ... that I just about have my house in order for all the company I will be getting starting on Fri. I will be picking up my beautiful niece and her boyfriend and my beautiful great-niece from the airport. Then her Mom and Dad (my brother Ted and sister-n-law Gladeen) will drive in from CA late Sat. afternoon. The next Sat. will bring another brother and his wife (Vern and Roxanne) with their son and his new wife (the wedding I just went too). Most of the work is done and it is almost time to just play and enjoy family!

3. I am thankful ... that my daughter went to the Doctor. I hope the med's make her feel better.

4. I am thankful ... that hunting season is here because it just makes my hubby so happy.

5. And as always, I am so thankful for my grandson Gunnar who makes my life full and tiring... Lol

First Snow of Fall

Here it is on Saturday... sunny, temperatures in the late 60's early 70's, and of course my Boo waving to the camera... Then this morning we woke up to a beautiful white world, you can't see it in the pictures but it is still snowing. Smells so fresh, I love the first snow of the season... makes me want to curl up next to the fire and read a good book (which I haven't had time to do in a long while) with hot cocoa or something hot to drink in hand.
Back yard. There was quite a bit more snow when I woke up but of course I didn't get the picture taken until a few minutes ago.

Looking out from my front door, the mountains look really pretty in the back ground and by the tree the grass is still green. Just pretty!

The Secret Revealed

I was so blessed that my sister-n-law (Roxanne) had a voucher for airline tickets that enabled me to go to my nephew, Kyle's, wedding! Roxanne wanted to keep it a secret from my brother and my niece and nephew, hence the secret, and it was fun to surprise them!
This is my brother Vern and his wife with their son in the background.
Here is the whole family at he rehearsal dinner.
Roxanne immediately put me to work helping with the last minute details and the wedding was a great success. Here is a picture of the newlyweds and the new addition to our family. I think my nephew Kyle made a wonderful choice in Christy! This was at the reception.
Here is the new Mr. and Mrs. Peterson

This is Jaelyn (the flower girl and my great niece, 13 months old) and Tristan (ring bearer 18 months old).
I really enjoyed getting to help and then I had some relaxing days that I didn't have to do anything but sit out by their pool. Here are some pictures of their backyard. It was very hot and I enjoyed every minute of it (hot flashes and all)!
The best part of all was getting to spend time with all the family.

The three sister-n-laws!

My brothers and I! We have to claim each other... Lol

Thankful Thursday #7

Thankful Thursdays are all about taking the time to appreciate all the little things or big things that actually went right during the week and not focus on what went wrong!

This theme is possible because of the inspiration of another blogger, Pam at http://pamperspective.blogspot.com/

1. I am so thankful... that we almost have my daughters remodelling (this phase anyway) done! My hubby refurbished a head and foot board for her, we painted it and her dressers, we are trying to finish her living room that was actually started last year... it is really looking good.

2. I am so thankful... that my Boo is really starting to do a lot of talking... repeating words and putting them together. His face lights up when he realizes you understand him.

3. I am so thankful... that my hubby is going to see his Mom... she is getting really frail.

4. I am so thankful... that I have a secret that I can't disclose at this time. It is a surprise!

5. I am so thankful... that I was able to see the house my Dad was born in... here is a picture of it at about the time my Dad was born. That is my Uncle Leo standing in front of the porch.
Just look at the date written on the back of the picture. Probably in my Grandpa's writing.

Warnig, Hail the Size of Golf Balls

Well, we had lots of fun yesterday... hail the size of golf balls and bigger!! Here is a picture of one of the smaller ones. I wished I would have gotten more pictures.

It blew a couple of holes in my daughters porch awning but no other real damage. Sure was strange watching it come down... looked like someone was up there throwing them down as hard as they could throw them.

I remember as a kid, we were camping in the Big Horns and it hailed. It dented our moter home all up on one side. What we had yesterday didn't last as long but it sure was bigger.

I Got Another Award... WooHoo

All bloggers love comments. An award that recognizes great commenters is a brilliant idea. And that's the idea behind the You Don't Say Award. Pam at Pam's Perspective was kind enough to pass this award on to me.

Getting awards is always an honor but an award that recognizes those bloggers who consistently comment is a high honor indeed. The You Don't Say Award "... is for beautiful people who practice blogging etiquette by visiting or visiting back, and leaving comments. Their observations are apt and helpful and it's a pleasure to have them comment on your posts..."
Usually, I have a hard time deciding who to pass awards on to. It was a bit easier this time since the "rules" are so specific. I looked back on all my posts and tallied up all my comments. I am going to give this award to my top 4 commenters after my top commenter... Thank You Pam @ http://pamperspective.blogspot.com/
