"The Forgotten Garden" and "The House at Riverton"... Two Book Reviews

The Forgotten Garden The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton
"A foundling, an old book of dark fairy tales, a secret garden, an aristocratic family, a love denied, a mystery The Forgotten Garden is a captivating, atmospheric and compulsively readable story of the past, secrets, family and memory from the international best-selling author Kate Morton."

Such a good book! I would recommend this to everyone. The author weaves you through, back and forth from the early 1900's to 2005. I really like the way this author writes, she kept me enthralled in the book.
A mystery that makes you want to know the ending and yet you don't want it to end!

The House at Riverton The House at Riverton by Kate Morton
"On the eve of a glittering society party, by the lake of a grand English country house, a young poet takes his life. The only witnesses, sisters Hannah and Emmeline Hartford, will never speak to each other again."

To me, another great read by Kate Morton! And again I would recommend this book of hers as I did "The Forgotten Garden". Her trademark seems to be the weaving back and forth through time. Another mystery to keep you enthralled and entertained. Read it, you wont be disappointed.

I loved the House at Riverton, so I couldn't wait to read the Forgotten Garden. It was so worth the wait!! It is a powerful, moving story of lies, love, searching, and finally, knowledge. It tells of a poor little rich girl and her ambitious, devious mother who only wants the very best for her daughter. Whatever Rose wants, Rose gets. Nothing is allowed to get in the way, and when Eliza comes into the picture, she and Rose develope a powerful bond.

how to get her back

The Forgotten Garden was the first book I read on my Kindle during my vacation last summer. I enjoyed it, too. I haven't read any of Kate Morton's other books, however.

I loved the House at Riverton, so I couldn't wait to read the Forgotten Garden. I found the house in Riverton have the same problem, sloppy writing - but I loved him anyway. In a guilty pleasure sort of way. I hope you can feel the same about The Lost Garden. The circumstances today are not so favorable.
